On Sunday 17 June 2012, Nurses 4 Nurses Ourimbah and academics from the Central Coast campus entered a team in the annual Bay to Bay 12km Fun Run with all proceeds going to Autism Spectrum Australia.

Together the 13 students and 5 academics completed the fun run from Woy Woy water front to Gosford Sailing Club as part of their commitment to engaging with their local community.

The team dressed up in scrubs and anything nursing related to show off their support and pride in nursing. It took just over 2 hours to complete the run as a team. The weather on the day was perfect with not a cloud in sight.

The 18 strong team raised $720 for children with Autism and the students would like to thank the School of Nursing and Midwifery for assisting with costs and providing encouragement and assistance in putting the team together.

Everyone involved had a great day and commented on how fantastic it was for students and academics to spend some time together outside of the University grounds while also making a difference for children with Autism.
