Facilities and Services
Library and Learner Support Centre
The TAFE North Coast Institute and the University of Newcastle have a reciprocal library agreement which entitles students from one organisation to limited library borrowing rights at libraries within the other organisation. Library staff assist with locating information resources that support teaching and learning, and provide training in information skills.
Port Macquarie campus library provides a quiet place to study and access to card-operated photocopiers, computers, scanners and audiovisual equipment. For further information about Library services, please visit the Library. At the Learner Support Centre students can receive the help needed to succeed in study including essay and report writing, research skills and study skills and examination preparation.
Counselling and Careers Services
Students enrolled with the University of Newcastle can access the TAFE Counsellors at the Port Macquarie Campus. The Counsellors are located in Building A and are available to discuss your plans, ideas, feelings or uncertainties about studying, as well as career options or life in general in a friendly, confidential atmosphere. The Disability Support Service
Students enrolled with the University of Newcastle can access the University Disability Advisers by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or by contacting the TAFE Counselling Service located at the Port Macquarie campus. There are a range of support services to assist students with a disability. The TAFE Counselling Service is located in Block C and can be contacted on (02) 6581 6212.
The Off-Campus Accommodation Service provides information about rental accommodation and maintains a database of current accommodation options provided by other students, people in the community and real estate agents. To access this service, visit the Off-Campus Accommodation website.
