The Bachelor of Chemical Engineering is concerned with the processing of gases, liquids and solids for the purpose of producing everyday products, while also applying skills to solve environmental problems. Areas of study address such issues as the provision of water, reducing greenhouse gases, and the establishment of clean energy production techniques. It combines knowledge of basic chemistry, physics, and mathematics with engineering principles and real-world economic considerations.
Graduates are able to practically implement their knowledge and skills in dealing with the aforementioned contemporary issues. Employment is found in industries such as manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, biotechnology, nanotechnology, microelectronics, environmental health, and petrochemicals.
Note: Mathematics is an essential element of this degree and it is highly recommended that students have an awareness of maths at either the Band 5 or HSC Extension 1 level. Also take note that this degree has a compulsory 12 week industrial experience element necessary for graduation.

Further Study Options
