Assay analysts are responsible for a range of tasks associated with conducting tests on cell cultures. Typical duties may include preparing and maintaining tissues and cultures, preparing glassware, reagents and media, maintaining records and procedures, and following protocols and procedures. An assay analyst could also be involved in modifying and implementing testing procedures. Assay analysts should be aware of laboratory practices as well as good manufacturing practices through on the job training and supervised work experience. Generally you will require a degree in a science or another related field to become an Assay Analyst.
