The Front of House Manager of a theatre is responsible for the smooth running of an event before and as guests or audiences arrive and leave the venue, they are required to be on duty at all public events. Some of their duties include ensuring patrons are seated responsibly whether on time or late, do not have to line up in large queues to collect tickets before and event, ensure foyers are clear and all patrons are seated, receive takings and working with the treasurer, and carrying out the hiring of front of house staff members and ushers.

Front of House Managers need to be approachable, and friendly, have good communication, organisation and management skills. It is often a profession that people become involved in if they are interested in the performing arts, and can be taken as a role to support your other interests.
