Human capital advisors help clients align their human capital strategy with their business strategy. This is done through evaluating, designing and deploying various processes that address areas such as talent acquisition, retention, organisational development, risk management, communications and cultural integrity. These areas, which broadly fall into prosperity and sustainability, opportunity and innovation, and wellbeing and communities, are addressed in order to assist organisations in all areas of business, attain high-performing workplaces that achieve their mission statements.

Human capital advisors need to have good interpersonal and communication skills, administration and computer skills and are often required to have gained experience in the field. Many of these skills can be obtained during tertiary studies in areas such as Social Science, HR, Business and Psychology, as well as through casual employment. Tertiary qualifications are a necessity.
