Indigenous Application and Selection Procedures
Application
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants wishing to be considered for entry to the Bachelor of Medicine- JMP must lodge an application with the Universities Admissions Centre (NSW & ACT) Pty Ltd (UAC) including the Bachelor of Medicine - JMP (CSP - 780000) as a preference by 31 October 2011. Instructions on how to apply to UAC may be obtained from the UAC website.

Academic Eligibility
The JMP will check each applicant's academic eligibility. Only those applicants who provisionally satisfy or satisfy the minimum academic requirement will be considered for interview. Applicants currently sitting the HSC, or equivalent, will be treated as if they provisionally satisfy the academic requirement.
Interviews
Eligible applicants will be required to undertake the following interviews:
- Confirmation of Aboriginality Interview
- Personal Qualities Interview and Assessment
Interviews for eligible applicants will be conducted in November/December during the standard non-indigenous interview period. In 2011 all Indigenous interviews will be conducted at the University of Newcastle.
Selection
Academically eligible candidates will be ranked for selection based on their personal qualities interview. Offers will be made down the ranked list of academically eligible candidates until the available places at each location are filled. All offers will be made in the UAC Main Round.
