Allan Morse has continued to be involved and concerned with innovative discipline directed design education since 1981, when he first moved full-time into the tertiary education sector. He moved to Newcastle in 1992 after many years as Head of The Graphic Arts course at Preston College and Coordinator of The Industry Advisory Committee for Graphic Arts in Victoria.

His role in Newcastle has been to continue as a facilitator and innovator in design education. In 1994 he established Studio4, a pro-bono client/community based studio, as a means of bringing an integrated industry and learning practice together. The result of which has been the establishment of graduate Graphic Design - Visual Communicators that are in demand and well regarded in the industry.
