Performance Development Framework (formerly MFP)

NEWS: Changes to the online Performance Development Framework (PDF)

PLEASE NOTE: The Performance Development Framework has replaced Managing for Performance. As the change is in name only the principles, process and support mechanisms remain the same. The online system will be renamed in due course.

The Performance Development Framework (PDF) has been created to align with the relevant clauses in the three 2010 Enterprise Agreements.  It replaces the Managing for Performance process.  It should be noted that all the principles and methodology of the PDF remain the same as MFP.

The PDF aims to align an individual or a team’s endeavours with the University’s strategic direction providing a link between performance of the University and the effectiveness and career development of each staff member.  It operates across all areas of the University and supports existing policies and processes.

The framework involves the mutual development of a Performance and Development Plan, which includes:

  • planning and goal setting;
  • performance feedback; and
  • review of achievements and the effectiveness of development activities previously undertaken.

Performance and Development Plans are formulated on an annual basis in the context of organisational plans, relevant classification descriptors, and resource requirements of the relevant workgroup, thereby building the broader University framework of workforce planning and development.
