International Student Exchange
The University of Newcastle has exchange agreements with many overseas universities. Participating students have the opportunity to study overseas for a semester or a whole year and potentially have the overseas study credited to their degree program at the University of Newcastle.
The Wollotuka Institute is currently in the process of establishing relationships with international Indigenous communities where the University of Newcastle has exchange agreements with their local University. These relationships will provide students with contacts within the local Indigenous community where their exchange program is located. This will also provide students with a connection to the local Indigenous peoples and an insight into their local culture and traditions. It wil also encourage sharing across cultures while also allowing our students to be respectful and mindful of whose lands they are on.
Students interested in participating in any of these programs should first read the information on the University's "Outgoing Study Abroad/Exchange" website or contact Adelle Grogan at Wollotuka.
Please note that the closing dates for submitting expressions of interest
- for Semester 1 - 31st July of previous year
- for Semester 2 - 31st January
| The University of Newcastle and the University of Kansas, USA have in 2011 extended their current Exchange Agreement to specifically include The Wollotuka Institute and the Kansas University Medical Centre. This means that there are opportunities available for any Indigenous undergraduate, postgraduate or staff member at the University of Newcastle in Medicine and other Allied Health programs to study and/or research at the Kansas University Medical Centre. |
