2NURFM provides a forum for local artists to reach audiences not only in the Hunter, but right around Australia.

As a faculty of The University of Newcastle, the Conservatorium fosters music teaching and performance. In its Concert Hall, regarded as one of the finest in the country, Newcastle audiences enjoy recitals by students, and eminent local artists.

ACACIA QUARTET - Sydney based string group in a concert of Australian compositions together with Alexander Borodin's String Quartet No.2 from which two of the tuneful themes were used in the musical "Kismet" as the songs "And this is my Beloved" and "Baubles, Bangles and Beads".

MOTHERS DAY CONCERT featuring THE WARATAH MALE VOICE CHOIR and special guest artists, PHILIP SKETCHLEY (piano) and VERONCIA BREARLEY (soprano).

PIANO AND CELLO RECITAL by ZUBIN KANGA and GEOFFREY GARTNER featuring music of South America by Astor Piazzolla, Villa-Lobos and Alberto Ginastera.

May 26

UNIVERSITY OF NEWCASTLE SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA in a concert of works by Shostakovich, Max Bruch and Ferdinand David, together with guest performances by THE WARATAH GIRLS CHOIR of Vivaldi's "Gloria in D", Sibelius's tone poem, "Finlandia", and Brian Daly's, "On a Newcastle Morning".
