Selecting a reference style
A reference style is a specific format for presenting your in-text citations and bibliography. Your Faculty or School may require that you use a particular referencing style - ask your lecturer if you are unsure.
EndNote X4 comes pre-loaded with over 260 reference styles for you to choose from (EndNote calls these ‘output styles’). If the style you need is not included, you can download additional styles.
You can select a specific style (for example, APA 6th, MLA and Vancouver):
| 1. | |
| 2. |
while you are in Word
via the Bibliography Preferences command .
|
You can preview how your references will be formatted whilst you are in EndNote. It is also possible to modify a reference style, for example to create an annotated bibliography in the APA style.
