Abstract
Blatant cheating detected in an online examination
Simon - The University of NewcastleCheating in various forms is rife among students in tertiary education. Cheating on exams is generally considered more serious than cheating in coursework assignments, and there is some evidence of a belief that cheating is easier and perhaps more prevalent in online courses than in face-to-face courses. We conducted an experiment to detect a particular form of cheating in a remote online exam, and found that a significant number of students cheated blatantly.
