Accommodation
Please note there is no accommodation available in student dormitories, and there are not many hotels in the surrounding areas (Jesmond Executive Villas and Formule 1 Wallsend). For this reason, we recommend you stay in the CBD, close to the city nightlife, restaurants, harbour and beaches.

Transport

Alternately, Newcastle can be reached by train from Sydney. One-way train fares between the Sydney Domestic airport and Newcastle (change at Sydney Central) are $29.40 (adult). The train trip will take approximately 3 hours. For timetables see http://www.cityrail.info/timetable/index.jsp

Newcastle is an easy 2 hour drive on the Sydney-Newcastle Freeway (F3). Take the Newcastle Link Road exit and follow the signs to the city centre.

Bus routes 100, 104, 225 and 226 run between the University (campus map reference C5) and the city centre. Buses operate on a time-based fare (1hr: $3.20, 4hrs: $6.20, or all day $9.50). For timetables and routes see http://www.newcastlebuses.info/getting-around/timetables.htm
Note that Warabrook station (campus map reference O15) requires a 15-20min walk to the conference venue buildings. For timetables see the CityRail website.
Parking is available at the University (campus map reference C5) for $4 a day Monday – Friday 8am-6pm, and is free after hours and on weekends.
