This course is Part B of a multi-term sequence. Part A must be successfully completed before undertaking Part B in the consecutive semester.
Because professional placement is with outside organisations, entry may be restricted and may be chosen by merit.
Students enter into an association with a co-operating host organisation where they develop their expertise in management of projects and issues. Students complete a specific project for the placement organisation and submit a major report for University examination and course credit.

To test the applicability of theoretical management principles via prolonged exposure to work place practicalities. 3. To assess the utility of organisational structures in addressing environmental and development management issues. 4. | Content | Students conduct (design, research and manage) a project on an environmental issue or a development issue of significance to the host organisation and produce a report, manual or plan for the organisation and for the University. Students also read widely about matters relevant to their organisation and their project and submit a written review to the host organisation. Students present their report at a university seminar. Students must satisfy the host organisation and the University that their part in the project is conducted professionally and performed satisfactorily. | ||
