GUEST SPEAKER: PROFESSOR JOHN MCDOWELL
Chair in Theology at the University of Newcastle
Last year marked the 200th anniversary of the birth of the most celebrated and controversial of naturalists, Charles Darwin. While debate rages between the different types of ‘creationists’ and ‘evolutionists’ with regard to the origins of life, Prof McDowell will examine some of the issues in order to argue that the significant questions lie in a more significant area – the understanding of what it means to speak of divine action.
