The Executive Committee of Alumni is established, under the University of Newcastle Act which provides for an elected group of Alumni, to represent its graduates. The committee has an advisory role to the University Council on all matters relevant to Alumni.

The Committee looks to support and develop the Alumni Network in partnership with the activities of the University's Alumni Office located within the Office of Corporate Development and Community Partnerships.

The Executive Committee of Alumni holds meetings at least six times a year. Members of the University of Newcastle alumni / graduate community are welcome to attend meetings as observers.
