Executive Committee of Alumni Meeting 4

The Executive Committee of Alumni is a group of graduates elected by their peers to represent the alumni community. All graduates of the University of Newcastle can stand for election to this committee annually in November, at the Annual General Meeting.


Functions & Roles of the Committee

A) Advisory role to the University Council

The committee has an advisory role to the University Council on all matters relevant to Alumni and partners with the Alumni Relations office to support Alumni development.

B) University of Newcastle Alumni Awards

Each year the committee present alumni awards to recognise professional excellence, innovation, creativity and exceptional leadership; and those who inspire others in a range of fields through their local, national or international service.

The awards are open to all alumni of the University of Newcastle and are administered by the Executive Committee of Alumni. Nominations for the 2011 Alumni Awards open in May 2011.

C) Alumni Advantage Breakfast Program

The Alumni Advantage Breakfast program is a professional development program for students and graduates of the University of Newcastle.

Members of the University of Newcastle alumni / graduate community are welcome to attend meetings as observers.
