Our Research
Research activities commenced in the UDRH with the appointment of a Research Co-ordinator in November 2002. Early activities involved developing the necessary infrastructure and links with research staff within the University of Newcastle, the University of New England and local health professionals. Primary Health Care Research Evaluation and Development (PHCRED) and Researcher Development Program (RDP) funding from the Commonwealth Department of Health in 2004 enabled expansion of the UDRH’s research activities.
The key research achievements to date have been to build research capacity in our region, provide support to and increase the number of “new researchers”, increase the number of publications and conference presentations and undertake an increased number of evaluation and research projects.
