The University of Newcastle Department of Rural Health has a valuable role to play in the provision of medical, nursing and allied health services across the North West Slopes and Plains, the Northern Tablelands, Manning Rivers region and the Upper Hunter Valley. It has an important role to play in your education and training as a medical, or allied health student.
The University of Newcastle Department of Rural Health covers approximately 20% of the land area of New South Wales and includes the regional centres of Tamworth, Armidale, Taree, Moree and the surrounding communities. In addition to providing rural placements for undergraduate students, the University of Newcastle Department of Rural Health also actively recruits postgraduate students, carries out research projects and provides valuable community support.
