22 NOVEMBER – 9 DECEMBER

PRELUDE

University of Newcastle, Bachelor of Fine Arts Graduate Show

The beginning is the most important part of the work. –Plato

A prelude can be understood as a device that paves the way for a more significant movement. For this year’s graduating Bachelor of Fine Art students, this conclusion of their degree is in actuality a prologue for what is to come.

The exhibition title of Prelude effectively reflects this idea, conjuring anticipation for the future artistic endeavours of these students.

Prelude showcases the diversity of art practices, techniques and concepts employed and explored by our graduating students. The exhibition is both a celebration of years of artistic development as well as a preface for tomorrow.

Join the exhibitors Emma Alexander, Caitlin Anderson, Christian Barkel, Alyshia Boettcher, Emily-Rose Braithwaite, Elaine Bull, Anna-Lina Carlesso, Natasha Carlin, Elizabeth Curran, Emma Elliot, Kylie Harris, Skye Jacobson, Kathryn Jeanes, Liam Madsen, Kathleen Mackay, Meg Mancell, Susanne Raynor-Gray, Rosanna Scott and Becc Spiteri as they show us a range of work completed over the last 12 months of their study.

Exhibitions to be opened by Dr Angela Philp, on 22 November at 6.30pm

The exhibitions continue until 6pm Sunday 9 December. Gallery hours are 11.00am – 5.00pm Wednesday to Sunday.
