The Confucius Institute is a non-profit educational organisation dedicated to enhancing understanding of Chinese language and culture in the Newcastle and Hunter region. Through language training courses and engagement programs with schools, principals and the general community, the Confucius Institute aims to strengthen educational and cultural exchange and cooperation between China and our region.

Chinese for Beginners 1A course for those with no experience of Chinese language. Chinese for Beginners 1 starts with simple and practical everyday Chinese. Language competence will be developed step-by-step using listening and speaking skills. The course will run for 2 hours per week for 10 weeks, starting 23 April. |

The skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing will be taught through an integrated communicative approach. The focus is on further developing listening and speaking skills.
