Welcome

Since 1949, our community of researchers and students has helped to build the University of Newcastle’s reputation as a national and international centre for the study of education. The Educational Research Institute Newcastle (ERIN) has established clusters of research strength in:

  • Equity and Education
  • Teacher Quality, Learning and Professional Development

ERIN informs and impacts on education research and practice in Australia and around the world. The Institute’s community of scholars has the breadth, the depth and the resources to make a difference. Education is at the centre of Australia’s capacities to compete economically, to create social cohesion and inclusion, and to provide the opportunities students need in order to flourish and to contribute to the lives of others.
