The University of Newcastle Central Coast supports an active and internationally acclaimed group of researchers. The standard set by our research is high and many of our researchers have their work regularly published in esteemed national and international journals. As Deputy Director Central Coast (Research), Professor Derek Smith's focus is on harnessing, supporting and developing local research talent.   Staff of the Central Coast campus undertake their research in a number of research groups that are based at the Central Coast, or they work as partners in research groups that include staff from the Central Coast and Callaghan campuses.
