The University of Newcastle's Chamber Choir will hold auditions for new voices to join the award winning ensemble which will travel to the UK this year for recitals in St Paul's Cathedral, London and live broadcasts for BBC Radio.

Chamber Choir Director, Philip Matthias, said with the ABC's Adult Choir of the Year award securely under its belt, the Chamber Choir was looking forward to another rewarding year and planned to expand its already impressive repertoire.

"The Chamber Choir has a proud history and reputation for attracting aspiring singers," Mr Matthias said.

"Choral singing is demanding, but enormously rewarding. Our goal is to nurture choristers to develop their singing talent while contributing to the richness and eloquence of the Choir's sound."

Auditions for the Chamber Choir will be conducted at the Conservatorium of Music from 4pm on Tuesday 20, Wednesday 21 and Thursday 22 February 2007. Singers must register for an audition by calling the Conservatorium of Music on 02 4921 8900.

Singers need to be able to perform a short piece that will showcase their particular areas of talent and ability.
