Infectious disease threats in the global village - are we prepared?

This public seminar is being hosted by the Newcastle Institute of Public Health (NIPH) on Tuesday 6 March.

This public seminar is being hosted by the Newcastle Institute of Public Health (NIPH) on Tuesday 6 March.

Speakers include Dr Andrea Ellis, an international expert on animal diseases that can affect people, and Dr David Durrheim, Service Director of Health Protection at Hunter New England Population Health and a Conjoint Professor with the University of Newcastle.

They will review current major infectious disease risks globally and in Australia and discuss strategies for ensuring that we are well prepared to respond.

Presentations will begin at 6pm at Newcastle City Hall. Tea and coffee will be provided from 5.30pm.
