The season will be launched in the Playhouse at 12 noon on Tuesday 17 July, when PAUL BEVAN from ABC Classic FM's breakfast show meets MOZART, LORENZO DA PONTE, CASANOVA, CONSTANZE MOZART, and the famous opera singer CATERINA BONDINI to talk about their lives and times.

Carl Caulfield's new play dramatizes the amazing life of Lorenzo da Ponte, who wrote the libretti for Mozart's three great comic operas The Marriage of Figaro, Don Giovanni and Cosi fan Tutte. The action of this picaresque comedy moves between Venice, Vienna and Prague, as da Ponte encounters a wide and varied cast of characters including Mozart, Salieri, two emperors, several opera singers, several mistresses - and Casanova!
