University hosts local Indigenous students for Pathways Day

The Central Coast campus of the University of Newcastle was recently host to around 120 local Indigenous students for the Indigenous Pathways to Learning Day.

The Central Coast campus of the University of Newcastle was recently host to around 120 local Indigenous students for the Indigenous Pathways to Learning Day.

The students, aged from Kindergarten to Year 11, came from the ten schools in the Department of Education and Training Valley Schools Local Management Group.

Along with parents, school and University staff, and members of the community, the students participated in seven different culturally-based workshops presented by local Indigenous people.

They also created a ground artwork with a theme about Pathways to Learning consisting of close to 1300 paper plates designed and painted by the students at their schools and as part of a workshop on the day.
