Prospective students of the University of Newcastle have until midnight tomorrow (Thursday 24 January) to accept their Main Round Offer from the University.
The University last week released 8,163 Main Round Offers to undergraduate students. Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Services), Dr Sue Gould, strongly encouraged prospective students with an Offer to accept their place.
"The University of Newcastle continues to be the university of first choice for students living locally, and in the Central Coast and Mid North Coast areas," she said.
"It is a successful world-class university demonstrating excellence in teaching and research, and preparing students to be work-ready achievers.
"Practical work placement is an assessable part of many degree programs and gives graduates a competitive edge when entering the workforce.
"Our graduates have some of the highest starting salaries in Australia, and 82 per cent of our bachelor degree graduates aged under 25 get a full-time job within four months of finishing their studies."
The University of Newcastle will make further offers in subsequent UAC rounds this year.
In the Late Round, applicants will automatically be considered for any of the preferences listed higher than the one offered to them in the Main Round, if there are places available.
However, if applicants have received a Main Round Offer, they are strongly urged to accept it by midnight tomorrow to secure their spot at the University for this year.
Preference changes to be considered in the Late Round have closed. Late Round offers will be released by UAC at 9pm on Thursday 31 January 2008.
Late applications and preference changes to be considered for the Final Round will be accepted by UAC until Friday 1 February 2008. Final Round offers will be released by UAC on Thursday 7 February 2008.
