The University of Newcastle is looking for volunteers from the community to team up with international students and families as part of the Community Connections program.

Over the past 10 years, more than 600 volunteers have used their local knowledge and experience to provide invaluable practical support for families who are new to the Australian culture.

Ms Ruth Gresham, Manager Community Relationships - International, said the Community Connections program helped international students build connections with the local community through language, cultural and social experiences.
