University of Newcastle students have the opportunity to apply to be part of the official Australian delegation to the 18th session of the World Model United Nations (WorldMUN) 2009.
Established in 2005, WorldMUN brings together University students from across the world to simulate the practices, actions and debates of the real United Nations.
Delegates are assigned country positions in various committees and to debate and discuss their country's position. Over a series of sessions, delegates are given the opportunity to debate, advocate and ultimately collaborate over a certain topic in an effort to arrive at a solution.
Students from a number of Australian Universities have already been involved however the University Newcastle is yet to be involved.
This exciting opportunity to represent Australia at the next WorldMUN and is open to both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
WoldMUN will be held in The Hague, Netherlands from Monday 23rd March to Friday 27th March 2009 hosted by the United Netherlands Association supported by Radboud University Nijmegen at the World Forum Convention Centre.
The Hague is a unique and truly international city, with a vibrant social life as well as a colourful and picturesque history. You will be able to explore centuries of culture and the academic centres of the Netherlands by day, and enjoy the spectacular social events by night.
