Boost for memorial scholarship fund

Fundraising efforts for the Glen Avery Memorial Scholarship were buoyed today by the donation of $3,500 from local theatrical company JKK Productions.

Fundraising efforts for the Glen Avery Memorial Scholarship were buoyed today by the donation of $3,500 from local theatrical company JKK Productions. Director of JKK Productions, Jason King, presented a cheque to the Scholarship fund covering the proceeds of sales from the recent Blood Brothers production staged at the University on 30 June and 1 July.

Jason said, "The two performances of Blood Brothers were well attended by staff and students from the University. JKK Productions would welcome the opportunity to support the Scholarship by making this an annual event".

The Scholarship has been established in honour of the late Glen Avery who passed away earlier this year. Glen's energy, enthusiasm and dedication was renowned throughout the University and wider community. Glen loved the arts and was a passionate theatre performer. The scholarship will fund a worthy student in the area of performing arts each year.
