The University of Newcastle will recognise the efforts of volunteers who welcome international students into the community, at a ceremony this week.

Volunteers of the University's Community Connections program will be among those acknowledged. Ms Ruth Gresham, Manager Community Relationships - International, said the Community Connections program helped international students build connections with the local community through language, cultural and social experiences.

The ceremony will be held at 5pm on Thursday 28 August 2008 at the Industry Development Centre, University Drive, Callaghan.
