Erina High School students will learn how the human body works, and how to measure and improve physical performance when they take a 'behind the scenes' tour of the University of Newcastle Central Coast campus Exercise and Sport Science labs on Tuesday (21 September).

The group of Year 12 Personal Development, Health and Physical Education students will be given an interactive tour of the labs at the Ourimbah campus, led by Exercise and Sport Science undergraduate and postgraduate students.

"This is a great opportunity for our undergraduates and honours students to explain what they have been learning and to inspire these prospective students to consider a career in exercise and sport science," said Exercise and Sport Science lecturer, Robert Lockie.

Applications for main round University Admissions Centre (UAC) offers for University study in 2011 close 30 September. For more information on the course and degree programs offered at the University of Newcastle Central Coast visit www.newcastle.edu.au
