Diary Note: University produces A Taste of Honey

Class, race, gender and sexual orientation will be put into question when the University of Newcastle delivers its next student production A Taste of Honey, directed by student Peter Hellier.

Class, race, gender and sexual orientation will be put into question when the University of Newcastle delivers its next student production A Taste of Honey, directed by student Peter Hellier.

His interpretation of this well-known play is a reinvention of Joan Littlewood’s documentary-style theatre. It combines music, humour and dark realities to capture the squaller and poverty of 1950s war-torn Britain.

A Taste of Honey will run from October 13-16 and 20-23 at 7.30pm in the Drama Theatre, Callaghan Campus.
