The University of Newcastle has been recognised as a top exporter taking out second place in the Regional Export Award category at the 2010 NSW Premier’s Export Awards.
The University was one of seven finalists in the Regional Exporter Award category and received a highly commended award at the event held in Sydney on 28 October.
“Receiving the highly commended award is recognition of the effort made by the University and its associated organisations such as GradSchool.com, the University’s presence in Singapore and Newcastle Innovation, to raise the profile of the University in the international market place,” said Professor Kevin McConkey, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and Global Relations).
“The University has more than 7,300 international students from 80 countries enrolled in our programs in Australia, overseas and online.”
