Chamber choir releases songs of China

The University of Newcastle’s world-renowned Chamber Choir will launch its highly-anticipated CD Jasmine and Wattle tomorrow at the opening of the University Gallery’s China Song exhibition.
The University of Newcastle’s world-renowned Chamber Choir will launch its highly-anticipated CD Jasmine and Wattle tomorrow at the opening of the University Gallery’s China Song exhibition.

The CD features music performed by the Choir during the 2010 World Choir Games in Shanghai and showcases their wide-ranging repertoire, including several Chinese folksongs.

The exhibition China Song will include the work of well-known Newcastle photo-artist Kate Croll who accompanied the Choir on its tour to record the members’ words, images and responses to their China experience.

The CD launch and exhibition opening will be held from 5.30pm on Friday 26 November. The CD will be available for purchase on the night, from www.jasmineandwattle.com.au from 26 November.
