Come along and discover something amazing at the Central Coast Open Day on Saturday 20 August.
With the University of Newcastle, TAFE Central Coast Campuses and Central Coast Community College all in one location, Open Day will provide potential students with the opportunity to explore and discover the wide range of study and training options in the region.
Visitors will see the new look campus, with $20m worth of construction work on new facilities, almost completed. They include a revamped library and new teaching and learning facilities for exercise science, education, nursing, horticulture and business students.
University of Newcastle Executive Manager Campus Partnerships, Linda Cooper, said Open Day would give people considering their education options the chance to experience what the Central Coast campus has to offer.
“The multi-sector structure at the campus makes it easier for students to access a wide range of learning and training programs. I encourage anyone considering furthering their education, returning to work, or upgrading their skills to come along and experience what we have to offer,” Ms Cooper said.
Staff and students will be available to discuss the 16 University undergraduate degree programs and two combined degrees, more than 160 TAFE tertiary and vocational programs and over 800 community college courses.
There will also be demonstrations and interactive displays, over 60 presentations and tours of the campus and teaching facilities.
“Visitors can explore the University’s new Exercise and Science lab, see students participating in the Regional World Skills Australia competition, watch upcoming chefs showcase their skills or visit The Wollotuka Institute’s Gibalee Centre which offers support to Indigenous students.”
“It is the perfect opportunity for the community to learn first hand about the educational opportunities the Central Coast Campus offers.”
The Central Coast Open Day will be held Saturday 20 August from 10am to 3pm.
