The University of Newcastle will showcase its study options to prospective students in Port Macquarie on Thursday 30 August.

The Port Macquarie Info Session will offer a glimpse at what's on offer at the multi-sectoral campus, and provide information on how you can upgrade your existing skills or change your career direction.

'You may want to enrol straight from school, continue your TAFE studies at university, or you may be returning to university after a long absence,' University of Newcastle Executive Manager Campus Partnerships, Linda Cooper, said.

'The University has been established in Port Macquarie for more than seven years offering teaching and nursing degree options that allow students to undertake university study without leaving their hometown.

'This year the University introduced the Bachelor of Midwifery to Port Macquarie. The program is in high demand and feedback from the first cohort of students is consistently positive.

'Come along and talk with staff and students at the Port Macquarie Glasshouse if you're interested in studying at our Port Macquarie campus.'

TAFE staff will be available to speak about the range of Advanced Diplomas, Diplomas and Certificates that provide pathways to tertiary study, plus our staff from five different faculties will be on hand to speak about the degrees offered at our Newcastle and Central Coast campuses.

The Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment will showcase the best of its gadgets at the Info Session with the award-winning robots - built by our students - to be put through their paces.

Event information: The University of Newcastle's Port Macquarie Info Session will run from 3pm to 6pm in The Glasshouse on Thursday, 30 August.
