Capacity Building Courses

The O-fWG runs courses for countries somewhat new to the technology. The first Capacity Building Course encouraged participation from Korea, China and India and was held in Korea in February 2009. A typical two day course will have the following format:

Day 1

Introduction to carbon capture technology options and GHG reduction
Oxy-fuel status and technology overview
Oxy-fuel science
Oxygen supply
CO2 compression

Day 2

Pilot scale testing
Detailed outline of particular oxy-fuel demonstrations
Discussion and panel session
Visit to plant or pilot-scale facilities
