Register of Approved Tests and Procedures
This Register is designed to assist researchers preparing applications to the Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC) for approval of human research. If a registered test or procedure is used, a copy will not be required with an HREC application.
To have a standardised test, research instrument or procedure included in the HREC Register of Approved Tests and Procedures, complete the Application for Registration form and lodge it with the HREC. Registration is for 3 years initially with the possibility of renewal.
Applications to have a test or procedure listed on the Register can be submitted by individual researchers, Centres, Schools or Faculties, however an individual must be named as the sponsor.
Only validated tests or procedures will be considered for registration.
Inclusion in the Register is at the discretion of the HREC and it reserves the right to withdraw registration at any time.
Note: The HREC is not recommending any test or procedure listed in this Register. It is the responsibility of researchers to ensure that a test or procedure is appropriate for their research, that they have the required expertise and qualifications to administer the test or procedure, and have in place appropriate strategies to manage, minimise or negate any potential risks associated with it.
Each time it is proposed to cite a test or procedure from the Register in an application to the HREC, researchers must check the Register to confirm that registration remains current.
