Research Information Management System (RIMS)
The Research Information Management System (RIMS) is an integrated online system to manage grants and ethics administration relating to research projects. RIMS offers researchers, administrative and executive staff a single point of reference for these aspects of research projects.
RIMS is powered by InfoEd and has been used by Research Services as a data management tool for human and animal ethics administration since January 2008 and grants administration since September 2009.
InfoEd is a provider of software for research administration management. The software is used by more than 600 academic, medical and scientific institutions worldwide.

The system is now available for University researchers, both staff and students, to view ethics and grant records on which they are named as an investigator. RIMS is an historical record as well as providing researchers with the opportunity to track the status and progress of current ethics and grant submissions.

Future developments will give PVCs and Heads of School view access to summary information for grants and ethics submissions of investigators associated with their respective Faculty or School, and a suite of standard reports to provide them with summary statistics.
