Establishment
This scholarship was established by the NSW branch of The Petroleum Exploration Society of Australia, (PESA NSW) to assist a student to complete an honours year in Earth Sciences.
Eligibility
To be eligible to apply for this scholarship you must meet the following criteria:
- Be enrolled in the honours year of Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Environmental Science and Management or other degree program in which the student is completing an honours thesis in the area of Earth Sciences
Required Documentation
If this documentation is not provided your application will not be processed.
After you have submitted your application, please print off the cover sheet provided and attach a copy of each piece of required documentation to it before sending in.
- A brief written statement outlining how the scholarship funds will assist you and your honours year project
- A tentative earth sciences research proposal, that has been discussed with an honours program convenor
Benefit
One (1) scholarship of $1500 will be offered in 2013, payable in a lump sum payment after Semester 1 census date.
Selection
Selection of the Scholar will be on the basis of:
- academic merit including a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 6.0
- assessment of the required brief written statement and tentative earth sciences research proposal
- performance at interview (if required)
