Faculty of Science and Information Technology Indigenous Undergraduate Merit Scholarships
Establishment
This scholarship was established in 2011 by the Pro-Vice Chancellor of the Faculty of Science and Information Technology with the aim to foster and support indigenous students within the Faculty.
Eligibility
To be eligible to apply for this scholarship you must meet the following criteria:
- Identify as an Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and be recognised as such by your community
- Be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate program offered by the Faculty of Science and Information Technology
Required Documentation
If this documentation is not provided your application will not be processed.
After you have submitted your application, please print off the cover sheet provided and attach a copy of each piece of required documentation to it before sending in.
- A written statement outlining your future goals/career aspirations and the likelihood of progress to an Honours program offered by the Faculty of Science and Information Technology
- A written reference made by an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander community member
Benefit
Up to ten (10) scholarships will be offered (subject to available funding.)
Scholarships are valued at $2,000 each, payable in a lump sum upon full-time enrolment after the relevant HECS census date
Selection
Selection of the scholar will be on the basis of academic merit, namely a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 5.0 or above, together with assessment of the required written statement.
