Tell us about your degree.
In 2003, I was lucky enough to be selected to join the first intake of students to complete a degree in Natural History Illustration. Over the three years of this innovative program, we were not only taught the illustration skills that would stay with us, but also encouraged to achieve and to believe we could improve with determination.

What was the best thing about studying Natural History Illustration?
In the three years of this degree, I learnt not only the true art of illustration, but also the ability to truly appreciate our environment and the wildlife that surrounds us. With the encouragement and support from the invaluable staff I gained the confidence and the skills to complete works in my final year for the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service and the Australian Museum in Sydney.

Where has your degree taken you since you graduated?
On completion of my degree in 2005, I decided that I wanted to share the skills I had learned with others. I have recently completed my Postgraduate studies in Education, so hopefully not only will I be able to teach students the ability to illustrate but also appreciate their Natural History.
