The Psychology Research Participant Pool

The First Year Psychology Research Participant Pool

The School of Psychology operates a First Year Psychology Research Participant Pool that enables researchers in the School to recruit students who are enrolled in PSYC1010 Psychology Introduction 1 and PSYC1020 Psychology Introduction 2 to act as participants in their research studies.

PSYC1010 and PSYC1020 students should read the Research Awareness Exercises Guide. Researchers who wish to recruit from the Participant Pool should read the Overview and Research Participation sections of this document.

Research studies for the Participant Pool will be advertised in an online system called the Sona Experiment Management System or Sona System for short. PSYC1010 and PSYC1020 students should consult the Student Sona Documentation for instructions about how to operate this system. Researchers should consult the Researcher PI Sona Documentation for details about how to operate the system.
