'Emerging Nurse Leader' Leadership Conference
During the recent semester recess break a small group of nursing students from the Ourimbah Campus, received an invitation to attend a Professional Development Day. The Australian College of Nursing’s Emerging Nurse Leader (ENL) program recognises that leaders are not born but created. Topics included the nine essential competencies required for leadership, building a culture of innovation in your team and establishing financial control. The students reported: "It was valuable to network with some inspiring people who are providing a platform for the future of nursing, and to meet Ourimbah student Laurie Bickhoff, a third year student, who is currently one of five students enrolled in the ENL program".
For first year students Amy Bickerton, Jessica Lucas, Seamus McArthur and Charlotte Paulley, it was an exciting day of self-development and vision, definitely a day they will always remember.
