Resetting your password

You can reset your password at any time by performing the following steps:

  1. Navigate to the following URL: https://identity.newcastle.edu.au. 
    The ‘Log In to Identity Manager’ page is displayed.
  2. Enter your User ID and Password, and click the ‘Log In’ button.
  3. Select the ‘Change Password’ tab.
    You will be prompted to enter a new password and then confirm.

Passwords entered into NUaccess must conform to “strength rules” that help make your password more secure (i.e., a mix of upper and lower case letters, plus numbers and special characters). 
These rules will be familiar to most online users, and are on the password creation prompt screen.

If your password does not satisfy the security requirements, you will see a ‘Policy Violation’ error.

A future upgrade of NUaccess may require users to change their passwords at scheduled intervals.
