Return after a Leave of Absence or Exclusion
Welcome Back to your studies at UoN!
Whether it's been 6 months or 2 years since you last undertook studies at the University, to make your transition as smooth as possible we recommend that you undertake the following tasks:
1) Look at your program structure
Programs are reviewed every few years. As a result there may be changes to the degree structure or the subject codes and names. Make sure you visit the program handbook and review the PEC (Program Enrolment Checklist) before enrolling in any subjects.
If you print the PEC, you can cross out the subjects you have already successfully completed to give you a better idea of where you are up to.
If you require assistance, it is worthwhile speaking with your Program Officer or Program Convenor for further advice.
2) Revaluate your study load
You may be behind on your enrolment, however taking too many units after a break in study can be detrimental to your academic performance. Consider where you are in your degree, and whether you intend to study full time or part time. Remember, 30 units is considered full time and may be a more manageable workload.
3) Fill in a Development Plan
We recommend that you fill out a development plan before recommencing your studies. This should assist you in better understanding your current situation, and develop methods of overcoming any obstacles in your path. Along with filling out this development plan, we recommend that you make an appointment with a Connect 2 Success advisor to discuss this plan.
