Student and Academic Services

The Student and Academic Services portfolio is the largest within the Services Division. The Academic Registrar oversees the portfolio and is responsible for managing student administration, student support services, academic administration, governance support, policy development and promulgation.

The key functional areas within this portfolio are:

  • Governance and Academic Administration
  • Student Administration, and
  • Student Support Services.

Student and Academic Services are provided across all campuses.

Governance and Academic Administration:

Governance and Policy supports the governance processes of the University including secretarial support to the Council, Academic Senate and major University committees.

The Unit supports the development, review and promulgation of policy.

Academic Administration & Hubs provide direct support to each of the five faculties in the management of programs (including prospective student advising), secretarial support to Faculty Boards and administration of academic policy. This group manages the student hubs; the primary student service access points.

Student Administration:

Student Administration provides services such as admissions, enrolment, fees, scholarships, Educational Services for Overseas (ESOS) compliance, examinations, graduation, timetabling, student systems and the contact centre (telephone and email enquiries).

Student Support:

Student Support provides the following services: Careers, Counselling, Chaplaincy, Health, Disability Support including Adaptive Technology, and Transition & Retention.

Accommodation (on campus through five residences and off campus) is managed by UoN Services.
